From the results of the mission FAO/OIE CMC-AH (Cr= isis Management Centre-Animal H= ealth) that took place in Haiti from June 3rd  to June 14th 2009, we would like to share with you an informative technical note prepared by EMPRES/G= LEWS about the situation of the Teschovirus Encephalomyelitis disease<= /span>.

Teschovirus Encephalomyelitis is still affecting swine herds in Haiti and we believe it is very important to inform= countries of Central America and the Caribbean about how to better manage the risks caused by the movement of animal or products of animal origin. Through this note, FAO recommends that countries of Central America and the Caribbean region should be aware of the situation in Haiti and apply basic preventive measures to avoid <= span class=3DSpellE>the entry of this virus in their= swine population and their potential dissemination. )

A link to pictures and videos that you can use to disseminate information about this disease are available.
